The baby is a ...

GIRL!!! Yep, that's Papa holding a pink baby book and Chibi's cute little awwwww I'm gonna have a sister look. We got a lot of good info today at the ultrasound. It seems that she takes after her father in that she is pretty cooperative and likes to sleep in. She is also developing right on schedule and all her parts are exactly as they should be. We got to see an amazing picture of her brain, spine, and she also mooned us for the first time.... I guess in that way she takes after Mama. No pics of the proof positive that she is a girl as we didn't want our daughter to learn to be an exhibitionist in utero. But now we can register.... pink and brown here I come.

Back to the Routine

This morning we had to take Sbb back to the airport and say goodbye... at least for a few months. We had a great time visiting. It was fun to go shopping together, get a little bit of pool time, go out to eat, and just hang out. Oh not to mention the hair dying episode, who would have known that when the box says "wipe excess dye off skin" what they really mean is "wipe excess dye off skin IMMEDIATELY". No problems though a little rubbing alcohol and Sbb's head and neck were back to skin color and there was a huge lesson learned. Add to the excitement from manicure and margarita night (unleaded for me) and we had a blast...

Traveling Friends

It was a great 24 hrs! Yet another friend from Omaha, who now lives in South, TX, came to visit for a day. The three of us girls had a great time together. It is so nice to see friends that you can just relax around in your new environment. We all had a great time updating each other on our lives and relationships. God has been so good to all of us in that department.

After she left we got a little crazy and purchased some hair die... more on that adventure to come.

Busy day yesterday. With celebrating "PaPa to be Day" and my best friend from Omaha coming to visit we had a great time. Not too busy of a schedule this week... more about relaxing by the pool and touring San Angelo, which of course will only take a day or two:) Hopefully tonight another friend from South TX will be coming to visit... I can't wait.

Down with Bangs

Uggggg! In an attempt to get away from the Librarian look when it is 100 degrees outside and my hair is back in a clip, I got the bright idea to add some bangs. Good idea right? Feminine, soft, still keep the long hair and have something down when your hair is back, bangs. This picture was taken this morning right after my hair cut... After 2 hours of trying to keep the darn things out of my face I went back and asked her to cut them shorter.... but they are still in my eyes. This is a big lesson learned... down with bangs. Oh well I guess they will grow back soon since my hair grows like crazy these days.

Snuggle Time

Some things never change and Chibi's spoiled status around here is one of those things. She can sit so pretty, when you have food. Is full of energy and loves to play, especially at 8am when we are still trying to sleep and she loves to snuggle and wake us up with the customary morning ear cleaning.

16 Week Appointment

This has been a fun week. First of all we went to our 16 week appointment and we were told that everything is looking good. They tried to listen to the baby's heart beat but that little mover was all over the place so we only could hear about 2 beats and he/she was off. The Dr. told us that we could do the "big ultrasound" in two weeks so at 18 weeks, if baby will show us the "goods" then we will get to find out the sex of the baby. Any guesses? I can't get the "comments" part of this blog turned on so please email your guesses to us... we'd love to hear what you think.

We also made our first baby purchase. This little monkey blanket was just too cute to pass up. And since Mama loves lime green and it's unisex it was a must have.

Our Oasis

Well the pool finally got to a reasonable temp, thanks to the numerous 90-100 degree days so we have been hanging out in our pool oasis. For the last week we have had 99 degree temps or better so to say this is our oasis is nothing short of true here in the West Texas desert. I out grew my current bathing suit and refuse to by another so I'm sporting the maternity suit. I think it is super cute but it's still really big on me, not enough belly to fill it in quite yet. My hubby on the other hand has been shredding weight as he has been working out 3 times a week and doing P90X.

"Down Town"

After a couple of weekends being cooped up here at the apartment we finally got bored enough to go check out "down town" San Angelo.
First we wandered into a furniture store where a very elderly gentleman thought it necessary to walk us through his entire store and explain what all the furniture was "this is your bedroom furniture, this is living room, etc" and after finally escaping his watchful eye we made a run for it. Whew... that was like a bad movie.
Next we managed to find Eggymeyers (sp?). It is like the store at the entrance of Cracker Barrel time 3 or 4. It was great. We had a great time looking at all the food, cookbooks, and Christmas stuff. My hubby loves me so he put up with it but I think he didn't mind too much. He seemed to like the food part and the toy/book section. Maybe there is more to "down town" but we will have to explore more another time...

15 Week Belly Pics

As promised I am trying to keep up with the belly pictures.  Here is me at 15 weeks.  Not much change from the 10 week pictures.  My waist has gotten a little thicker so it is a must to rubber band my shorts but at this point there are only 2 pairs of maternity shorts that fit me.

So here is what I don't get.... these maternity shorts are so comfy and relatively cute so why don't they make all clothes this way?  Giant elastic bands and all.  Then we wouldn't have to have "fat jeans" or grab that bigger pair of pants when we hit the buffet.  Really these things are the most comfortable pants ever!!!

Otherwise baby and I are doing well.  I should get to feel him/her move here in the next few weeks.  I can't wait.  Hopefully 20 week pictures will look more prego and I will be fully into my cute maternity clothes.
