Spring - My Favorite Season

I loved spring in Bellevue, NE as I would get to see my tulips pop up and watch all of the brown turn to green but this morning I realized that I like the San Angelo spring just as well. Chibi and I were on our customary morning walk and I was thinking about how nice it is that we wake up to 60 degree temps - perfect walking weather for Chibi and I. Then at around noon it starts heating up and we end the day in the mid 80's eating ice cream. What a life....

10 Week Prego Belly

Well I have been meaning to get this picture on my blog for some time but I finally got past my insecurity and decided to go for it. This was me at 10 weeks and as much as I'd like to say I'm showing a bit, it's really just my normal belly. Well my normal, we got married and I love to cook and eat belly. At this point I've only gained a couple pounds and most of my clothes still fit - well with a little help from a rubber band. So far other prego symptoms have inspired me to set aside tight clothes for stuff more comfy but all those symptoms are easing up a bit now. Woohoo!!! Next week will be 13 weeks and I should start pooching out. I'm excited as I have gotten a cute maternity bathing suit and some friends have given me some super cute maternity clothes. I'll try to take Belly pictures once a month so you can share my progress with me.

Our Noisy Neighbor!!!

4:00 am and we are having flashbacks to the movie "Failure to Launch" where the roommate seems a little over the top about killing a bird that is chirping outside her window. Now we understand her completely and think that maybe some of her ideas are pretty good. Yes, we have a noisy little nocturnal bird that has taken up residence in the tree right outside of our bedroom window. The amazing thing is that this bird can mimic every car alarm noise created by man (at the same volume). However, we were not appreciating the talent by 4am when this had gone on all (did I mention all) night. First we tried clapping, that didn't get rid of it, so then we through water at the tree... that worked for 5 min. Finally in an act of desperation my husband started launching ice cubes at the tree, I think more for his gratification than actually expecting to hit the bird in the dark... but ahhhh all to no avail. We are hoping that tonight will be a different story or we may have to run out to Walmart and get a Supersoaker.

Mover and Shaker

What an amazing miracle. Today was our 11 week appointment, where we thought we would hear the baby's heart beat, but instead we got to see our baby. Her little heart is beating at 174 beats a min (no worries that is a good heart beat at this point). And she is very active!!! We got to see her wave at us, stretch her legs, and do the wave. A real football fan in the making:) Pretty good for a little one that is only 2 inches big. Also if you look you can see an arm in the air and her little legs and feet. She is the mover and shaker. Papa keeps calling her "him" but we can't find out for sure until the 20th week, and then only if she cooperates. But I don't know 174 beats/min she might be a girl! Either way we are excited and happy to see that she is developing right on schedule and both of us are healthy and doing well.

I'm a Texan

Well we finally made it. Actually we made here to Texas almost 3 weeks ago I have just been slow to get working on this Blog. But really it is my May resolution to keep up on this so you all can see what we're up to and so that I can take time to stop and enjoy our time here. That and to take a little more time to laugh at life in Texas. I really do think it is a different country down here. First of all if your ever in doubt where you are at just look at any fixed building and either the Star, the Flag, the UT symbol, or A&M logo will remind you that you are indeed in the Lone Star State. Notice the stars on the visitor Center? How many can you find? There are actually 8! Also it turns out that after living here for 30 days it's mandatory (for non active duty people aka Me) to become a Texas state resident. So yes, I am officially a Texan, License plates and drivers license to prove it, though I think Farrah's husband would disagree as he still calls me a Yankee:)
