Milestones

Mama Passes the Torch

Mama's favorite toy growing up was her giant rocking horse. It was a special moment as Mama placed Little Boo on it and she got her first rock on the horse. I can't wait until she is big enough to enjoy it and I hope that she loves it as much as I did as a kid:)

Boo Rolled Over!!!!

Mama was working on a new post and Papa laughed in delight. He said, "I just watched Boo roll over". What? Are you kidding me? I want to see it. He put her on her belly and, sure enough, within just a couple of minutes she rolled over to her back again. The third time Mama grabbed the camera. How awesome to see her grow, learn, and develop.

As for Chibi, she just looked at her like "Big deal I've been rolling over for years now. Ha, and you don't even get a treat for doing it."

Special Moments With Boo

Boo is so fond of her Papa. Mama can spend all day with her, sing to her, walk her around, talk to her, but nothing brings a smile to her face like her Papa. She hears his voice and she just lights up.

Talk time!!! "If your happy and you know it say Aguush". Yep that is right, when we have a happy girl on our hands she is full of noises and coo's. We love it. Boo and Mama sit for a while and "chat" I think she is telling me about the silly bears that fly over her crib but I'm still not quite sure.

Snuggle time with Mama. I figure sooner or later the DVD collection will be much more interesting that snuggling her sweet little face into Mama's neck. So while I still can I'm snuggling every chance I get.

For right now this is Mama's favorite book... Haiku Baby. Boo seems to really be drawn to the pictures, which are very colorful, and Mama loves the poetry. Papa has his favorite book too but we'll save that one for another post.

Ahhhh, yes a sleeping Boo. She fell asleep on Mama's chest and when I put her down she did her "bunched up on my side and Oh I found my thumb move". Yes the flash did wake her up but this was too cute to miss. That and it was bath time anyways.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind or Something...

YUCK! YUCK! YUCK!!!!!!! Yes everyone I saw my first live cockroach in Florida tonight. It was a very traumatic even for all of us.
I was simply going to put one of Little Boo's bottles into the dishwasher, we keep the counters and sink clean so that we don't invite any of these very large pests into the house. When I opened the dishwasher door all I saw was large brown movement on the ladle that I had used at lunch.
My response you ask?
It was like a scene out of Ghostbusters.... I screamed and flung the door shut as quick as I could. Ran into the office and said "Honey, uggg, yuck, yuck, yuck, a roach. Please deal with it" (read with high pitched voice and high intensity). About that time I noticed little Boo's face moving from a frown to a pooched out lower lip to a full on cry. My hubby was equally as frazzled as he has never heard me scream before or freak out for that matter.
After he stilled his nerves a little he went into the kitchen and dealt with the menace. Whew!!! Now off to the store to buy more roach bait and our floor around the dishwasher is covered with bay leaves. I love the warm weather but I live without the nasty bugs.

Some of Mommy's Favorite Things

Yes the baby monitor. After traveling and moving into a new home over the last month Little Boo has no schedule which translates to a very unhappy fussy baby. So for her sanity, and Mama's, we are working on a schedule. The baby monitor keeps Mom's sane by allowing me to let her cry and not have to just sit and listen and cry with her:(

Baby vs Bottle! So how do you fit 6oz of formula in a 4oz bottle? No riddle here, you don't! So we had to move up to the bigger 8oz bottle and only fill it to 6oz but HOLY BIG BOTTLES Batman!

Yes that is Little Boo sleeping:) Now if only she would stay that way once I put her down. She seems to like to fall asleep as long as one of us is holder her but withing 30 min of being put in the crib she is all afuss.

Happy tummy time!!! We finally got to break out the tummy time mat and what fun. Boo likes the mat but she has yet to master seeing the floating fishies but for now we are just happy to be on our tummy again.

New Year

NEW. That is an understatement. New Years Eve the Lokker Family, to include my hubby's folks, brought in the New Year with our eyes closed and trying to get some sleep so we could finish off the last day of our traveling. But alas on January 1st we arrived here in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

Here are just a few "new" pictures but there are many more to come. We have some new scenery with beautiful beaches and stunning sunsets. Little Boo has a new bed, though we still haven't quite transitioned to the big bed yet. Boo also has graduated from her Newborn clothes and is now in 0-3 months:) Mama was really excited about this because now she can wear this super cutie "Love Bug" sleeper. In other, non-picturable news, Boo has also started smiling at us and cooing. Too cute. Well I guess the smile would be picturable but each time we tried to capture the toothless grin we caught her on the smile fade and it just looked like she was mad:) We'll keep trying.

There are many more pictures to come as we get settled into our new house and a lot of back story to tell. For now I will I will leave you all with a promise to have more pictures of the new place soon and to say that God really does give "abundantly, more that we can hope or imagine".
