Papa's Little Girl

There is something about Papa's and their little girls that just melts your heart. The pink blanket is where Papa and Boo have their tummy time. We like to call this picture, Boo is going to punch Papa in the face:) She loves to use her arms but has yet to master control of them so Mama, Papa, and Boo get fists in the face and chest often. Right now she is working on lifting her head, which she can do, a little, when on her tummy. But mostly she likes to kick her legs. Papa puts his hand out and helps her scoot along (on her face). Really Papa we need to get the head up first:)

Little Boo has been packing on the pounds and has finally gotten to where she fits into her Newborn clothes. Mama was so excited to see her in the clothes that Papa picked out for her that she had to take a bunch of pictures. But really isn't that too cute? Plus the colors were perfect for Thanksgiving, which we celebrated with A. Kimmie & U. Clay. We all had a great time eating turkey, taking pics, and just enjoying each others company. Chibi also had a good day since she got to clean some plates and go for a walk. We all have so much to be thankful for!

Grandma & Grandpa B

Last week brought Grandma & Grandpa B in town to help with the challenges of life with a newborn and to visit and spoil little boo. Though there is a limit to how much you can spoil a 2-3 week old baby Gma & Gpa did a pretty good job:) Little Boo got lot's of cuddle time, a walk, tummy time, and her first bottle. Not to mention several songs from Grandma and a couple of hummed little ditty's from Grandpa.

Mamma & Papa got spoiled too as Grandma & Grandpa watched Boo while we got to go on a date. Mamma only called once to see how things were going and we mostly talked about stuff other than Little Boo.... mostly:)

My hubby and I are so grateful for our families and how much this little girl is loved not only by us but by all. We also had a visit this week from A. Katie & Marcus but where was that camera? She was also spoiled by her Aunt who snuggled with her and gave her a super cute little summer dress and her first pair of flip flops. My beach baby is all ready for those white sand beaches now. We had a great time talking with them and hearing about their upcoming adventures.

This week brings A. Kimmie & U. Clay into town. We are excited for their visit too as we will get to see Kimmie at 32 weeks prego.

An Ounce A Day...

"An ounce a day keeps the pediatrician away." That is what Dr. P said when we took Little Boo in for her 2+ week appointment. It seems our little girl is doing "very well" and her Doc is "very pleased" with her weight gain and how she is progressing. Okay, so the picture does not show our little porker who is now weighing in at 5lbs 11oz but this is her Papa's favorite picture so I wanted to share it with all. This was taken at the hospital right before we left.

So as I was saying, the Doc is pleased with her progress and can I just say WE LOVE DR. P. He takes in to account the fact that she is a preemie and really helps us to know what to expect and how to deal with the little nuances of our baby girl coming early. We are going to be sad to leave here and have to find a new Pediatrician. Actually we are going to be sad to find all new Docs. It is amazing the relationship you build with your medical team as you walk through pregnancy and try to figure out this crazy life with a newborn.

We go back to see Dr. P in two weeks so he can check her progress and we can discuss shots:( This will be tricky because she is set to get her first shots right when we leave. My assignment this week is to try and set something up in FL and coordinate that with Dr. P before we leave. Otherwise they may give her the shots early.... We'll see how this goes.

Week One

Week one down and the fog is starting to lift. My hubby and I still have the baby daze going on but Little Boo is starting to figure out some kind of schedule, with a lot of help from Mamma and Pappa.

Here are a couple of our cutie pics for now. Not much more to say, that will come later but for now we just wanted to get a couple more pics up for those that check this blog often. We love you and keep praying for us as we enter week 2. We have heard that the first 2 weeks are the hardest....

Trick or Treat?

Trick or Treat? That is what we were wondering at 2:00 am when I woke up from a pretty good contraction. When I realized that my water broke I got a very sudden answer, our little girl was a big treat that was coming our way on Halloween day.
As many of you know we don't use names on this blog so this is going to be the same for our baby girl. If you don't know the name already you'll have to email us, call us, or catch us on Facebook. However, I don't want to always call her baby girl so... one of our friends said "since she was born on Halloween her nickname will always be Boo and that's what we'll call her". Great nickname F&C, and one that we are going to use for this blog. Our little Boo.
That being said, Little Boo was born at 11:54 on Saturday, October 31st. She was 5lbs 3oz and 18 inches long. She was 3 weeks and 2 days early... man I hope this is not a sign of things to come because I am never early:) According to Baby Center 37 weeks is full term and the Doc wasn't concerned about her early arrival. She did not have to stay in the NICU and all of her "tests" she passed with flying colors. She's just an over achiever who was determined to come out and check us out NOW!
As with all first time parents my Hubby and I are working on figuring this whole thing out. We had a couple of snafoos with nursing (more on that later) and we are trying to figure out this sleeping schedule deal, but all and all we are holding up pretty well, minus the messy house and constant daze & confused look on our faces. But we have had great friends come by and bring meals and Mom B. is coming to save the day in a little over a week....
Well I hear her working up to a pretty good cry so I better get going....
